Janez Kuntarič

Co-founder and director of RETCON. Over 25 years of experience in the retail industry — started his career in 2000 at Mercator as a member of the Strategic Merchandising team.

Co-founder

2001 — Started at Mercator as a member of the Strategic Merchandising team. Responsible for assortment management, floor plan development and specifying store equipment. Implementation of the Apollo system.

2003 — Assistant head of space and assortment management at Tuš, instrumental in developing a local retailer into one of the largest and most modern retailers in the former Yugoslavia region.

Established and developed IT infrastructure for Category Management (JDA), linking planograms with the ordering system. Key contribution to the Tuš store concept and modern category management philosophy.

Training at JDA, ECR and Nielsen conferences and at Carrefour. Expert knowledge acquired in an international environment.

2013 — Left Tuš and co-founded the consulting company RETCON.

Janez Kuntarič
Co-founder & Director

2000 — Začel v Poslovnem sistemu Mercator kot član ekipe Strateškega merchandisinga. Odgovoren za upravljanje sortimana, izdelavo tlorisov in specificiranje trgovinske opreme za vse države prisotnosti Mercatorja.

2002 — Head of merchandising at Tuš, instrumental in developing a local retailer into one of the largest and most modern retailers in the former Yugoslavia region.

Established a modern category classification system, designed the modern Tuš store concept, introduced Category Management, reorganized procurement and managed the space and assortment department.

2011 — Joined the new Merkur management. Responsible for introducing Category Management at Merkur, including impulse products and cigarette sales at the DIY retailer.

Training at JDA, ECR and Nielsen conferences and at Carrefour. Expert knowledge acquired in an international environment.

2013 — Co-founded the consulting company RETCON.
